Home of the first Open Championship in 17th October, 1860 over 3 rounds of the 12 hole course, Prestwick was extended to 18 holes in 1882 by Old Tom. Heading up the coast, West Kilbride’s original 9 hole layout was designed by Old Tom and extended by 5 time Open Championship winner James Braid in 1914. Next to Glasgow Golf Club, a later edition to Old Tom’s portfolio setting out the Kilermount course in 1904 aged 83 years old. The Tour culminates in the Home of Golf, St. Andrews. Situated adjacent to the iconic Old Course are the Jubilee and New Course, two magnificent works by Old Tom.
