Gator Tours supports Veterans
Funds are currently being solicited to support the upcoming retreat in Waterville, Ireland for 10 Special Operators (Navy SEALs; MARSOC, Green Beret’s; AFSOC; Delta Force; and Army Rangers) who are suffering with PTSD/TBI. It has been determined that golf has a “healing effect” for those suffering from these maladies. You can help with your donation.
Please visit www.veteransalternative.org and show your support.
2018 was the fourth year Gator Tours has supported U.S. special operators with PTS/PTSD/TBI (Post traumatic Stress / Post traumatic Stress Disorder/Traumatic Brain Injury) on a retreat in Waterville, Ireland. PTSD/TBI therapists participate along with the wounded veterans. The retreat includes golf instruction, horseback riding, fly fishing and a trip to Skellig Rock (Home to many scenes in Star Wars movie). Waterville teaching professionals conduct clinics throughout the week.
A scramble tournament is held on the last day followed by Irish culture entertainment from the local area.
Booking at St. Andrews
St. Andrews Links has advised that for any booking for summer the year after, reservation requests should be submitted no later July the year before.
Gator Tour LLC supports charitable organizations
During the month of October for the past three years 8 to 10 Special Operators (Team) have been vetted by the CARE Coalition at the Special Operations Command (SOCOM) located at MacDill AFB, Tampa, Florida, for the purpose of traveling to Waterville, Ireland on an Accelerated Wellness Program (AWP) mission. This year’s Team will consist of: Green Berets; Delta Force; and Marine Special Operations personnel. All have been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
The mission includes psychological therapy, horseback riding, golf/golf instruction, rock climbing and fly fishing. The Team is supported with two Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) Clinicians. Each Team member has up to 5 ART sessions during the mission. The mission duration is 10 days which includes travel days to and from their home town. This will be the second year Veterans Alternative, a non-profit charity, will sponsor this mission.
We have been working with the Golf Channel to accompany us while doing a special show on how golf has a “healing effect” on PTSD/TBI as part of therapy solutions available to our military. Research is continuing in an attempt to determine how the golf experience effects the injured brain.
We are soliciting your help to support our continuing research. Your donation is tax deductible. You can participate through funding for a single soldier or soldiers at $5K per warrior; through supporting the purchase of an airline ticket at $1300 per warrior; or a donation at any level to help support the overall mission.
